Ohio Federation of Abstinence Educators
OFAE
OFAE is an organization that works to unify abstinence education
while reducing overlap. Ohio’s OFAE meets four times a year
in Delaware, Ohio to discuss grants, new sexual health information
and studies, and the development of curriculums. During the meetings,
speakers including government officials, doctors, and researchers.
The group works on making sure that Ohio is equally served and that
messages are not being overlapped by multiple organizations in the
same area. The goal Ohio’s OFEA is to strengthen the delivery
of abstinence education.
Building on Success Juvenile Council National Conference Washington, DC. Jan. 9 - 13
The National Conference is sponsored by the coordinating council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Four main themes were identified by the White House Task Force for Disadvantaged Youth:
1. Trends in Victimization, Delinquency and the Juvenile Justice System, Helping Youth with the greatest need.
2. Strengthening Our Families to Develop Our Youth.
3. Holding Programs and Ourselves Accountable.
4. What Works.
